The BROCCOLO History

Broccolo founded over 35 years ago, by Laurie Broccolo, CEO in 1990, is a certified Woman Business Owner.  Laurie is the 1st Distinguished Alumni honored at FLCC with an Associate Degree in Applied Science, in the field of Ornamental Horticulture and Environmental Conservation.  Broccolo LEEDS consulting founded in 2009 (Landscape Expertise in Environmental Design Services) is Laurie’s focus.  Albert Broccolo, Vice-President, co-owner since 1993, adds his expertise in engineering, construction and equipment with certifications for green roof installations and stormwater management.

Services include: Lawn Care programs using an Integrated Pest Management approach which is recognized as the 1st recipient of Cornell’s Excellence in IPM Award.                                                        Landscape construction, planting design, & maintenance with environmental strategies. The Broccolo group has grown to approx. 30 full/part-time employees with a full range of capabilities in landscape installations for residential and commercial accounts. Our certified nursery professionals (CNP) provide quality control. Residential clients make up 90% of annual projects with 10% focus on commercial.

The All woman Leadership team includes Jessica DeMasio/sales/general manager, Diane Myers/Landscape Operations and Debi Bridges/Administrative Finance manager. Our Field manager, Marth Sorbera trains and oversees staff for Landscaping/Garden Center. The B-Friendly Farm & Gardens was founded in 2011. It is located at 2755 Penfield Rd. The 43 acre farm specializes in native trees and shrubs. The property has become a demonstration and destination site, with sustainable solutions including solar power, green roof, electric charging station.
