Goodness Grows
"Eagle Scout Butterfly Garden"

Aiden Taylor is completing his Eagle Scout project by building a butterfly garden at Homesteads for Hope. He researched and put together a fantastic list of plants to host butterfly larvae and attract pollinators.  This project qualified for matching funds and labor assistance through charitable Broccolo’s Goodness Grows program. We can’t wait to see the results.

Why is Fall the Best Time to Plant Trees?
Fall is one of the best times of year to plant trees—and for good reason! Cooler temperatures and more consistent rainfall create ideal conditions for new trees to establish their roots before winter.
While the branches may be preparing for dormancy, the roots continue to grow in the cool soil. This gives newly planted trees a chance to develop a strong root system without the stress of summer heat.
Planting in the fall also means less water loss from the leaves, reducing transplant stress and giving your tree a stronger start when spring arrives.
The result? A healthier, more established tree that is ready to put on new growth when the growing season begins.
Fall planting = stronger roots, less stress, and a better start for your tree. 🌳
