This native plant is a favorite plant of the Broccolo designers. It is hardy, fast growing, deer resistant, thrives in sun and part shade, is tolerant of most soils and is gorgeous. There are several nativars from the common green leaf to purple leaves  in which the tan colored flowers stand out in contrast. Some variations have great fall color and golden leaves in the spring.
