The leaves are coming down fast and heavy! Before you clean all that insulation and habitat out, blow them into your garden areas, leave a 4-6″ layer for all the larva, worms, insects, birds, etc.

When spring rolls around, the leaves are broken down and provide an extra layer of moisture retention and compost for the soil! You can add a thin layer of wood mulch for aesthetics. This a Win-Win for nature and your gardens.

Goal: remove old plants, reduce lawn and plant native trees, shrubs and perennials

Everyone gathered in the Broccolo Barn and celebrated “J” Jeanine Fyfe’s time at Broccolo. It was a great way send her off as she starts on her next adventures!
However, J will forever be part of Broccolo’s alumni.
At Broccolo Lawn and Landscape, we believe in the power of sustainable gardening practices that benefit both your garden and the environment. Our approach emphasizes the importance of leaf management and the role it plays in enhancing soil health and supporting local wildlife. By educating our customers on these practices, we aim to create thriving landscapes that are not only beautiful but also ecologically responsible.
Our commitment to sustainability is reflected in our services, which include expert lawn care, landscaping, and gardening advice tailored to seasonal changes. We encourage our clients to embrace natural methods, such as leaving fallen leaves in garden areas, to foster a healthy ecosystem. This not only aids in soil enrichment but also provides habitat for beneficial insects and wildlife.
Managing fallen leaves effectively can transform your garden into a healthier and more vibrant space. Instead of viewing leaves as a nuisance, consider them a resource that can improve soil quality and support plant growth. By leaving a layer of leaves on garden beds, you create a natural mulch that retains moisture, suppresses weeds, and provides nutrients as it decomposes.
Additionally, fallen leaves serve as a habitat for beneficial organisms like earthworms and insects, which play a crucial role in maintaining soil health. This natural approach not only enhances the beauty of your garden but also contributes to a balanced ecosystem that can thrive without excessive chemical inputs.
Our featured project series highlights the transformative power of professional landscaping. Each project is carefully documented to showcase the before, during, and after stages, allowing potential clients to visualize the possibilities for their own spaces. From rejuvenating tired lawns to installing native plants, our work reflects our dedication to quality and customer satisfaction.
These projects not only demonstrate our expertise but also serve as inspiration for homeowners looking to enhance their outdoor environments. We invite you to explore our gallery and see the impact of strategic landscaping that aligns with sustainable practices, ensuring that every project contributes positively to the local ecosystem.
Seasonal gardening practices are essential for maintaining a healthy garden throughout the year. Each season brings unique challenges and opportunities, and understanding these can help you make informed decisions about plant care, maintenance, and landscape design. For instance, fall is an ideal time for planting, as cooler temperatures and consistent moisture help establish roots before winter.
Moreover, seasonal practices include tasks such as pruning, mulching, and preparing your garden for the upcoming weather changes. At Broccolo, we provide guidance and resources to help you navigate these seasonal shifts, ensuring your garden remains vibrant and resilient through every cycle.
