Connecting Community and Nature

Kyra L. Stephenson is the Nature Based Learning Coach at Anna Murray-Douglass Academy RCSD school No. 12.
 
Kyra received a grant from the Center for Youth to create an outdoor classroom. Kyra was the recipient in the Individual category of Environmental Innovation Award sponsored by the Seneca Park Zoo Society. She connected with Broccolo, the business category award recipient and together we created a plan for students to plant native pollinator and bird attracting plants. These gardens are part of the curriculum and students will be immersed in nature when utilizing the outdoor classroom for any subject matter.

Broccolo Plant of the Week
